Founder & CEO
Dr. Joshua Renken, a native to central Illinois, attended Eastern Illinois University for undergrad and then received his DDS degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After completing associate work in Chicago, Dr. Renken moved to Springfield, IL and opened his first practice, Renken Dentistry, in 2003.
Due to his ongoing dedication to professional growth, he has been awarded fellowships from both the White Cap Institute as well as the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
In 2014 and 2015, 2016, and 2018, Renken Dentistry was voted best dentist in Springfield by The State Journal-Register’s readers.
Dr. Renken is dedicated to organized dentistry and professional alliances. He served as President of the GV Black Dental Society for the 2014-2015 term. Dr. Renken also holds professional memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry, a Fellow of the International College of Oral Implantologists, and as a member of the Chicago Dental Society and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Renken is fully committed to the community, specifically the success of children and families facing the challenges of neurological and developmental differences. He has been a long time member of the board of The Hope Institute for Children and Families and currently serves the organization as chairman of the foundation board of directors. Renken Dentistry has been a pilot site for Hope’s Vocational Program. This partnership has made it possible for the dental practice to meaningfully employ and support a team member with developmental differences. Dr. Renken is also a member of the Ambassadors of Hope, a volunteer group of business leaders who serve as advocates for The Hope Institute and the children and families it serves. He looks forward to finding new projects and ways to become involved in Leander, Texas.
Dr. Renken is the owner of Smile From Within LLC, a holding company supporting the dental practices, products and services associated with the platform. The group manages PracticeWater — a practice management services company, Renken Properties LLC — a properties company, and dental practices in Springfield, IL, Leander, TX and Georgetown, TX in the last five years. His web-based patient subscription management platform, Health Assurance Plan, brings top-quality dental care to those without dental insurance. He developed the Drop Delivery System, a universal organization system for dental practices built around a single patented container.
He is also an author with his first book, “Dr. Fries-With-That”. His mission is to help dental offices create greater health for their patients, team members, and practices!
Dr. Renken and his wife, Leigh, have four children: Reilly, Miles, Oscar, and Lorelai.
Vice President of Operations
Dr. Seth Wasson graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2001. He has tailored his busy GP practice in St Louis, Missouri to providing clear aligner therapy to his patients. He is one of very few Invisalign Platinum providers in the state of Missouri and is a key opinion leader for the American Academy of Clear Aligners and related topics. Additionally, he has presented nationally and internationally on aligner therapy, orthodontic acceleration and practice management.
